Installed my Avid Off-Road Bolt-On slider/steps yesterday. Quick shot of those.

Overall it's good. A little scuff here or there but that'll happen anyway over time with use. They fit perfect. Torqued bolts to 18ft-lbs (Toyota says step rails are to be torqued to 16ft/lbs +/-5, so since these bolt to the same location I went with that value).

Time for a spring pics! Got the truck all cleaned up today and a fresh coat of wax. Also installed some Neo-chrome film on a spare set of fogs to change up the look. I'll prolly throw the amber fogs back in come fall.

Life's been happening lately, selling my soul on a piece of land to build a house... Snagged an off road poser shot in the field.

No real changes with my truck lately besides maintenance. On the other hand took the time to help out my Dad with his. He's more old school and a fan of the chrome so we wanted to do something that made the truck look and drive better without coming across too tacky. So we did the PRO grill but kept the chrome surround. For what it's worth I think color matched would be way better but this doesn't look bad. After watching Craigslist for a while we finally found a set of '15 4Runner Trail wheels that were brand new take off's at a great price. Once we got those they were paired with 265/70/17 BFG KO2 Tires in a C load rating.

Today we just finished installing the suspension. He wanted about the same lift as me but at a lower price point. We opted for 5100's all the way around. The fronts are paired with Wheeler's Offroad Springs (by Eibach) and shocks set at 0. We are also running a 1/4" poly spacer on the driver's side to correct for lean. This set up in the front netted a nearly identical ride height as the Baja suspension on my truck based on hub to fender measurements. For the rear we went with the ICON 3-leaf AAL.

I can confirm what another user said regarding the ICON AAL. They have re-designed it. Between the leafs were mostly all coated with paint, not rusted to hell like mine were when I got them. All we did was apply some grease between each. We did not have to cut off an OEM pack clamp either. There were no clearance issues like I ran into with the OEM rear spring pack clamp. Also, the location of the driver's front AAL spring clamp has in fact been moved more rearward, eliminating the problem of coming into contact with the fuel tank mount. However, with these brackets being further back, you cannot mount the e-brake brackets to them. It pulls the lines too tight. So, we left them free hanging and cut off the brackets.

Here's some pics of what I'm talking about.

AAL not overlapping, or being in the way, of the factory clamps to the rear

Once the cold weather passes and we both get the chance to get our trucks clean I'll get around to some more pics.

Meanwhile the house is coming along good :)
