That set includes them. They're just attached to the ratchet straps in the picture and I couldn't see them until I went to the site.

 

Ahhh, yep. These were a bit cheaper than the separate axle straps.

 

Out of curiosity, why? I've had them on the Tacoma since I bought it, and they sold me.

 

I’ve seen them deteriorate after not very long on another friends tacoma. I like the versatility of the airbags. Install is cake too.

 

True. Mine still work, but they don't look pretty. I've nothing against airbags, but I'm lazy, so I like the Sumos. Going with manual inflation?

Yeah, I need to see if a bicycle pump is sufficient. I imagine so since it’s such a small volume.

for the most part, yeah, she will be. I’ll still drive her some places where I won’t be able to park a trailer but this’ll make long drives a lot more comfortable.

 

Oh! Since I know you're a Mac's fan: Their display at an Expo was great. Cars strapped down to the bottom of lifts (cars upside down, too). Simple and genius.

 

That is a good question. Last truck I had them on, I ran the valves to the rear bumper and disguised them as license plate bolts. It was just two Schraeder valves that I used gas station air on.

After the first time you bought from them, I've bought a few straps, too. So I agree. For cheapies, I've really been impressed by Rhino USA.

 

Depends on the pressures involved. A lot of generic bike pumps are meant for high volume, but lower pressures. Prob be better off using Betty or the new Tundy, Lord Humungus' on board air if manually inflating.

 

That’s what I was seeing after a little searching. So I may pick up a portable dewalt compressor for it.

 

Install on a tundra takes about an hour. Put them on my dad's last year.

Bicycle pump will work but is a major PITA. You have to be careful with an air compressor though, typically you will be going from like 3 or 5 psi to like 8 to 10. We got it dialed in on my dad's with his 34' TT hooked up to only need like 3.5 psi added. So literally just a bump of air from a inflation gauge on a compressor.

 

Wow, that’s surprising considering the range is 5-100 psi. One thing I’ve been wondering is if you can inflate them once the truck is already loaded? Because I have no idea what psi I’ll need once the trailer is hooked and loaded. Ideally I’d get it all loaded and then pump them up until the tundra is level again.

 

Get onboard air.

 

Maybe eventually I’ll go fancy and get the $600 system that lets me change the pressure of each bag individually from the cab.

 

Yes, for many manufacturers they actually instruct you to inflate once it is loaded. I think he finally settled at like 3.5 lbs when unloaded and driving around town. He stretched a tape to the rear fender when unloaded. Then attached the trailer and filled til it came back to the same height. I want to say he told me it was only like a final of 10 psi or something. It was surprisingly low though. I do remember that. I put like 20 lbs in it when I first installed them because of their range thinking that would be low, could barely keep it on the road because it was bouncing around so bad in the back. Dropped it to 5 psi and it was much smoother. He got home and played around with it til he settled on 3.5 for empty.
