Out of budget. The goal here would to have it be a lateral move. If I were going to buy another vehicle I'd get a fun to drive car that got better MPG than the Tundra. Additional insurance, licensing, and a payment/another RTT style camping item doesn't pan out financially.

Why would I keep the tundra if something else is going to do my off-roading and camping? What role would it fill? I'm not sure I follow.

Nope. Wyoming beats you up on plates. I don't want another car/truck. If I did I'd be getting a Challenger before they end.

Plate it in another state. I plate my trailers in Oklahoma to avoid inspections haha

Hopefully these aren't trailers that are pulled by the Taco. Texas only requires inspections for trailers over 7500 GW. :boink::boink::boink:

If it were me, I'd skip the Pro and go for the Off-Road. Buy capable suspension, tires, gears, and a front locker with the money saved.

After modding the Tundra, I have learned I don't want to do that again. Buying skids and sliders is about all I'm willing to do.

It all adds up. Skids, Sliders, Bed Rack, Roof Top Tent, Gear. Even with the pro shocks, the suspension doesn't cut it. :notsure: Maybe airbags and a Westcott kit in the front at a minimum. Some of these guys with the Pros end up stripping everything off, and all they're left with is the stitching on the leather seats. Just my opinion man!

Oh I hear you. That's why I kick myself on the Tundra. The TRD Pro was in my budget after my mods.

All I want on the truck is the rack, RTT and the skids (I'd go aluminum this time around) and sliders, maybe. Might be able to go without the sliders, and definitely not upsizing tires this time or getting aftermarket wheels. Before the Taco urge I was actually looking for Tundra Pro wheels to get back to factory offset.

Find a rack the bolts to the bed bolts. The composite beds can crack even with those brace brackets

I'd likely use the rack I have. I can cut down the cross bars to fit. Do you think I'd be at risk of damage with mild off road with the @CaliRaisedLed bed rack and a 120lb iKamper?

Sounds like you have it figured out!

I'm actually really liking that 2022 Trail Edition in Army Green, with the rear lokka. Just toss the bed coolers, and you're set!

According the the toyota build and price, the TRD OR is lower cost than the Trail, and available with a stick. Still not sure, but If I'm forced automatic I want the MTM and Crawl Control. With the Trail, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

Crazy! Although, I can count on one hand the times I've used Crawl Control. lol Nowadays, you need to factor in the "dealer adjustment" too.

You consider an access cab if it's just yourself? :notsure:
