Yep. The tundra. We could have given it a proper send off. :D

I got to have a 1200 mile road trip in it as a send off. I was very conscious of what I love about it on the drive. It was most definitely bittersweet, and I would have kept it had I been willing to run two vehicles. I don't regret moving to a Taco, but I will always have a soft spot for Cavalry Blue Tundras.

Sounds like you're happy with the purchase…all that matters. The Tundra isn’t without issues either and the fuel economy can make anyone swap vehicles.

Thank you. I am quite happy with the swap. Fuel economy wasn't really a factor. More that it was getting what I wanted in the first place instead of making the responsible choice, again. Sometimes you gotta do what you want to make all the work and OT worth it.

It might be but there will be no diesel in my garage. Doesn't make sense for what I do.

I'm not sure how a diesel makes sense in any mid size truck. Isn't the primary advantage of a diesel towing?

Haha being in a sting grey Mojave now with all the Orange accents I really liked that colour when I saw it!!

Anyway, other than a tissue you will need different leaf pack if you plan to carry or tow anything with a Tacoma. The stock leafs really are just shit. The rear fox shocks are also the same length as the stock rears from all Tacomas, so add longer rear shocks to the things you'll want to make it perform off road.

If I walked in to a Yoter stealership tmrw who had an orange manual that I could trade for and keep the same payment I would so go for it! Love the Mojave also but the manual PRO will be highly sought after in a few yrs.

He doesn't even tow. Think he's hoping diesel gets cheap again

I do love it. Almost went manual, but I don't think my hip and back can handle a stick for my only vehicle. You never know, you might be able to pull that deal off. I might know a guy who knows a guy. @Squatting Pigeon

Ha! I had the diesel in my ZR2, it was absolutely the best! Until it became the absolute worst due to constant DEF system issues. Loved that truck until I hated it! Slow as heck, but fuel economy was insane. I could see 9L/100km on the highway with 33 inch pizza cutters no matter what was in the bed. Put the canoe on top, same mileage.

For clarity as to my babbling here about two high end non Toyota rigs I've had a 2009 Reg Cab with full OME suspension and a 2018 TRD Off Road with Eibach suspension.

Haha I think about all of the periods of life where I've dealt with injuries and how a manual would have sucked something serious during those times but still miss shifting and would likely jump on it.

But I get the hip and back stuff. All injuries an aches are different for sure but I follow your thoughts on that route

Yup. EGRs and DEF have destroyed the reliability of diesels, and all for appearance's sake.

If I had a second vehicle, I'd absolutely have one as a stick. Still probably wouldn't be the Taco, but something like a Challenger, WRX, or if I were richer, the new Supra.:burnrubber:

I looked at doing the tune/delete since in Canada we can still get away with that. The issue is it would have cost me at least 4k, then my warranty that I like would have been long gone and I had just purchased the extended warranty when these issues started. I was lucky to be able to sell the extended warranty back to GM for about 80% of what it cost when I traded the truck away.

Yeah, even if he did tow it would suck even with the deisel. Because midsize. And good luck to him on deisel getting cheaper relative to gas.

I’m thinking about since I sold my 22 Camry about 2 months ago. Possibly looking for 14 or 15 Tacoma. I had a sport years ago and traded that in on my 17 4runner Pro. I want to keep my tundra Pro.
