This just in!

I don't know if anyone has seen this but in the double cab the rear seats have an extra set of holes in the latch to increase the distance to the back wall.

 

are you sure? Did you read this in the owners manual? B/C I did not see it anywhere. It could just be a latch that is used for other cars.

 

I just saw the holes and put 2 n 2 together. I moved the latch and I've got a few more inches for the subs excursion now.

 

Very nice. I've seen more than one person who welded in longer hoops for the catch to clasp to. This is a hell of a lot easier.

This should be stickied or added to an FAQ.

What is the total distance gained? Inch and a half? I think that would really help out. What's max depth from what y'all have found right now before doing this? Add about 1.5 to that and that should really open up the market for usable subs. Maybe some of you can start running the FiQ's I've been talking about.

 

Any chance I could get a couple more inches on my 2006 access cab PreRunner. I'm 6'1" and would love an extra 2 or 3 inches for the long drives. These trucks seem to be built for the under 5'9" crowd. Anybody ever tried extending the seat rails or mounts for leg room?

 

F$@% Yea! I am about to put in a JLwv3v3 10" and had to get a 6" deep box I was worried about hitting the rear seat but this just made my day
