Anyone ever had a sound that sounds like the fan hitting the coolant hose but it's not? I've made sure that that wasn't the case but it almost sounds like the sound is coming from the crankshaft pulley. The belt vibrates and I thought that that might be the issue but but I fixed it and I don't believe that is the case either. I can't figure out what it is. It only happens at around 1k RPMS, IN Drive, and it only happens after the engine has had time to warm up. Doesn't happen when the engine is cold. Any ideas?!?

Also I don't really think it has to do with the RPMs. It seems to only be when the engine is in a certain position after the accelerator is puched.

    Here is a short clip.

To me your idle sounds normal just a regular ol Toyota tick. But when you gave it gas that's when it sounds aweful. Seems like it is related to rpms/accelerating?

    Loose/worn pulley?

Carefully play with the belt tension when it's noisy, I would think it's a bearing if the sound changes. Sounds sorta like a dry or loose bearing to me.

Sounds like your supercharger is messed up. I'll take it off your hands.

At this point I'm thinking it has something to do with a loose/bad crank pulley but I torqued that sucker to 205 lbft when installing the SC so idk. I thought it might be a cracked flex plate but I researched it and a cracked flex plate has more of a metallic clunking noise.

But would a loose pulley only tick when the engine is at normal operating temp?

Still making the noise. Coming from the pulley area (I think). Going to try to replace the harmonic balancer and see if that might be the issue. Bump to see if anyone out there has heard this noise before.

    Maybe a bad timing damper?
