Any 1st genners tow a car on a trailer with a 3rz? I'm thinking about picking up my dad's old CJ-5 in Iowa and driving it back to Oregon. The Jeep and trailer weigh right around 3,500lbs. which is what the Tacoma is rated for. What do y'all think?

That's going to be a long, slow, miserable trip.

Rent a half-ton or better for the trip.

As said that’s going to be a long slow trip. It ain’t going to be the least bit fun. Especially bad during the winter. If you tow it wait til after winter. Be sure the trailer has brakes. . Hopefully your Taco is a 6 not a 4 cylinder.

I think I'll just spend the extra dough and rent a 3/4 or 1 ton. I'm planning on doing the trip in the spring or early summer while the weather is nice.
