    Hello all
Im not sure but i may just be one of a few who like the steel 16in factory wheels, that being said has anyone put newer generation steelies on 2nd gen that came with alloys and had luck having the sensors programmed?

I found a lady selling steelie take offs with under 1k miles, i needed tires so i thought no biggie, well hers is a 21 mine is a 11, can it be possible themore advanced sensors will still work?

If you are shifting from alloy wheels to steel wheels, then you will need different TPMS sensors. The mounts are different.

I believe there is a circuit or programming difference between 2nd and 3rd Gen.

Suggest to stay with the 2nd Gen sensors for steel wheels.

Just an aside, if a tire shop tells you the light will go off if you drive ## miles that is incorrect. Either they did not inflate them/the tpms warning is set differently, they did not program the sensors correctly to the truck, or they broke at least one. 2nd gens require the sensors to be programmed, they do not automatigically activate after a number of miles.

http://densoautoparts.com/find-my-part will show which Denso tpms sensors you need for what year/wheel (if it works, doesn't seem to be responding for me currently)

Happened to me last time I got wheels I told them and they said they've been doing this for a long time I said okay but when I come back for yall to fix it. I'm not coming back as pleasant since you're wasting my time. And sure as shit. I was back after 20 mins ( 10 minutes to my house and 10 minutes back lol )

Hopefully they took note of it... Not likely though.

Best to get a manager and make them check the sensors programming is responding correctly.

They tried to blame it on the OBD2 connection on the truck I think or the ECU I don't recall. But I told them if the old tpms sensors worked no issues it's probably the ones you guy installed. Not sure what they did as they kept it vague but they did fix it. And I got free lunch for my wasted time. Lol.
