    I bought four Oro-tek sensors from Amazon. I brought them to the dealership without the old sensors. They programmed them.

    What psi was the spare? In cold weather the spare is usually the problem... the tires heat up when driven but the spare stays cold... just enough pressure change to trigger the light. Best to run the spare psi a bit above the rest to keep it from happening.

    This is the first vehicle I've owned in 55+ years of driving that has had such a silly, uneccesary, and costly to repair system--first sign of trouble from mine I'll be disabling the foolish thing...

    I dont think Tacoma's use a TPMS sensor in the spare.

    Yes they usually have them in stock and yes I did buy from rock auto. Just took wheels and sensors to firestone and they installed no problem.

    Exactly! These are called "idiot lights" for a reason, because only an idiot forgets to check tire pressure, and only an idiot pays $200 + for sensors that monitor what you should be monitoring frequently. TPMS is such a racket, and I am glad to have removed the sensors from my wheels. Yes, the warning light is always on, but I don't give two shits, it can stay on. Real men know how to use a $10 patch tool to fix puncture leaks. Get a damn can of fix a flat, or better yet.... on-board air like many of us on this forum. Screw TPMS and the horse it rode in on. hahahah

    the spares had them from 2005 up until 2008 or 2009.... my 2007 has it.

    2006 X-Runner.....Big O tires replaced two sensors and the light was still on. They replaced the other 3 and now the light periodically flashes. So for $600 all I can figure is there is a malfunction. They said the CPU probably needs to be replaced. That doesn't make sense as it worked fine before they replaced the sensors. They can't figure it out. They reset it, initialized it. Suggestions?

    Got my buddy at a Goodyear shop install these. Shop also has a snap on scanner and sensor relearn tool. Got all sensors to relearn and TPMS light is now gone. FYI I purchased the truck without sensors. Truck has 17 fuel wheels. Sensors worked no issues. You don’t NEED a dealership to install and relearn the sensors. Most big chain stores like americas tire co. Goodyear. Firestone’s etc will have the equipment and knowledge to do this for a REASONABLE price.

    I hardwired the warning light off at the first sign of trouble. I managed to drive for 50+ years without such a silly system--figure I can make the next twenty OK without it...
