Trailhunter question

Finally picked up my trailhunter today and added mods. Awaiting my tires to arrive to add new wheels and tires.

my question is. The front bumper plate that is silver. Was disappointed that it was plastic. Thought it was aluminum or steel. Any one know of a replacement for this one small part. The silver section only. Thx

I believe NYTOP has a product but it's about $1k in either STEEL or ALUMINUM (adds $100 to total).
Curious - why are you looking for something sturdier other than you just want it sturdier?

 

I asked the same question. Its begging to be replaced.

 

Yah. Out of place with the rest of the truck. Probably wanted to avoid looking like the Tundra. Lots of front bumpers from the usual suspects cut it out. Lots to choose from, or just wrap it.

 

I rather like the look - the contrast gives it character IMO.
I'll note - this was similar to my 5th gen 4runner - in fact, all the 5th gen 4runners had a front valance that was plastic. The skid plate was visible from the front, but it was clearly underneath the front end.
If anything, a bumper with compatibility with a winch would address the issue.

 

I actually reached out to ARB about this because I wanted my front bumper to match the rear... ARB said that a front bumper is in development but that it would not be ready for production and sale until next year (2025). Front bumper replacements are limited, but NYTOP ($999) and CBI ($1040) have replacements. There is a video on YouTube from someone that installed the NYTOP bumper installed but I haven't seen any videos with the CBI bumper installed.

Caliraised, RCI, DV8, Victory 4x4. Plenty to choose from.

Edit: ARB is taking so long cause they actually test their stuff. When I travel to CBI to get mine, I will probably the first one who will actually test the bumper

 

i would wait for ARB.

 

Why not either tape everything around it or take it off and hit it with some flat black paint for the time being ?

I have a feeling toyota was planning to put out the trailhunter with an ARB front bumper in place of that plastic one, as well as a moonroof like they have in canada but they probably fell short on supplies, or it was a cost or quality issue. It makes no sense on a halo trim that has so much attention to detail everywhere else has missing options. I bet you anything they will offer them standard in future models of the trim. Notice the compressor was supposed to be ARB as well but we got toyota branded ones instead.

 

Probably for the best it’s not an ARB compressor. They like to melt their crappy harnesses.

 

That compressor we have is seriously good though. I don't want any other.

 

C4, nytop, DV8, CBI....take your pick. There's probably more.

 

Agreed- the control software on it is pretty cool.

 

They're putting an almost identical silver plastic front bumper valance on the 2025 4Runner Trailhunter, as they have been on the 5th gen Trail & Off Road 4R.


Toyota wouldn't put anything (metal) that would cause the mpgs to dip, however slightly.

 

There are a number of options as listed (I had found a few but appreciate the others). I agree, this front piece is dumb. I was disappointed when I saw that. Additionally, the front skid plate on the TH has an unprotected leading edge just at the bottom end of this front cover piece… it really needs to be covered by something so the front lip of the plate doesn’t gather debris or catch on something

 

Love the Roof Rack, appreciate you choosing us. We will have our stealth bumper coming out in the next 2-3 weeks.
