Like good husbands , i made a compromise with my wife, after having my heart set on a 6 sp manual, i bought a 5 sp auto dbl cab, i originally set out for a acces cab manual, but the practical dad in me went for..well..practical(aka she cant drive a manual) anyways has anyone successfully done a auto to 6 sp manual swap over? i know this would be a beast of a job, sourcing the parts would be a head ache alone..but i did this with the supra( auto to manual) with the help of a donor car with BHG and a very talented mechanic. this is ofcourse way down the road once its paid for if i keep her that long and a theoretical question! would it be worth considering or just entirely too much work? hole in fire wall for clutch petal, clutch master cylinder, trans, bell housing, TCU( do the manuals have a trans computer?)yada yada..if someone has been successful in this please post a build thread or write up so i can get a general idea.

Too much work. Just trade it for a manual when the time comes.

Things have gotten a hell of a lot more complicated since the Supra days my friend.

Easier and more effective to just trade her in.

Or you could trade the truck in and get a manual transmission also. [IMG]
