TRD or not

So, is a Tacoma a TRD if it has the rear differential locking capabilty? I have a SR5 and the locking rear differential in my 2007. There are no TRD decals on the truck and the original owners manual is missing. I was told by the seller that it was a TRD.

Either way, since you said you have a locking diff, that only came with the TRD offroad package. Other features that the TRD OR has over the SR5 is a front tow hook, front skid plate, and cargo deck power outlet and overhead compass/temperature. The original factory rims were alloys instead of steel. Those may be long gone by now.

 

Thanks! I have a TRD! I think the truck was repainted and the decals are gone on the bed sides.

 

Previous owner could have just removed the TRD decals on the side. Quite a few people up here tend to do that as well. It's possible that it was repainted, if see different colors/shades in engine compartment, door sills, etc. but most likely just had the decals removed. It's only a sticker.
