Tweeter help.

After 4 years my jbl tweeters are finally going bad imo.I'm looking to replace them.I was looking at some Polk and rocksford tweeters.what size are the current tweeters?does an after market pair just plug and play?Not really wanting to go get taco tunes adapter...

 

You'll need adapters and also probably have to do some modification to the wiring. The factory crossovers are incorporated in the tweeter. If you're wanting to go cheap, maybe just find a set of OEM take-off speakers that you can use. Otherwise, you'll need to invest in some components with crossovers that you hide under the kick panels.

 

Plug & play in the physical sense is one thing. However you also need to consider impedance and frequency response or you may be disappointed in the result. You'll be better off finding OEM replacements for a direct swap.
