Got them on sale as soon as my wife got pregnant and lowered them 1.5 inches to make them true steps. Now I like it too much to raise them back up even though they sit probably 2 inches below the frame. As they come they made it harder for me to get in and out. But overall I would recommend.

aires 3D mats, scan gauge II, rear differential breather relocation, and bakflip G2 bed cover.
I got mine for the sole purpose of preventing door dings in parking lots and knocking mud off my feet before getting in. I don't see myself sliding my $35,000 truck into rocks.

I dropped my steps with 12 longer bolts and 24 larger nuts and they're ever bit as strong as bolted straight to the body. I dont think you could keep going too much lower than 2 inches because the bracket with the angle will meet itself .

Buying the "sliders" I didn't realize they're almost flush with the floor of the truck. Which does bug me a little because I am short and I like having a step for help getting in. I'm 5'5 so I don't like messing up the side of my seat trying to get in.

Alright I got some pics of how mine sit
    20180323_142043.jpg
Theres the gap between the useless bottom of the step and the frame.
    20180323_142147.jpg
As you can see this gives us about 6 inches between the step and floorboard.20180323_142220.jpg
These here bolts were the only thing that made it a pain, but it looks like you could keep dropping... But I know how yall like your ground clearance.

You can also jazz them up with some rubber diamond plate stick'ems from Harbor Freight, 3 bucks a piece.

What are the Torque Specs on these, if any? The instruction sheet I got in the box just states to tighten the bolts down.

I used an inch/lb torque gun to snug them all up, then went back by hand until they started to protest. I'd guess 30-35 Ft lbs total.

The washers will bow in with little resistance before you strip the threads... dont go that far
