Anyone install the ESI Ultimate Tailgate Seal? Started with the bottom seal and tailgate won't close all the way (power). Stops just short of lock up. I think I remember some power tailgaters saying they had a problem with their bed caps causing the same problem. Guess the sensors are that sensitive. Going to leave it closed over night to see if that compresses the seal enough to work.

Does it actually fill the side and bottom gaps? I'm interested in something like this. I have a manual tailgate so I don't closing will be a problem.

I haven't done the sides yet. If the bottom seal doesn't compress enough to fully close (with the motor - doesn't take much effort to close it the last 1/2" manually) I will end up removing what I have done so far. I'll update the post when I get it sorted out.

I let the truck sit with the tailgate closed overnight and in the morning I could open/close (power) with no problems. Finished up sealing the sides and no problems with power closing. I didn't install it per the included directions. First I removed the tailgate so I could do the bottom seal with one piece. The instructions called for using separate 2" pieces on the left and right ends that looked kludgy.

I didn't put the seal on the sides above the rubber stop bump because the way the show it, again it looks weird.

The kit comes with a small strip of wide seal and a longer strip of narrower seal. The instructions call for using a cut piece of the narrow seal on the top of the tailgate. I used a cut piece of the wide seal there instead and that appears to seal that area making the need for the seal above the rubber stop unnecessary.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to order a kit. I was looking at various pieces of standard weatherstripping but didn't find anything that really looked like it would fit.
