What all parts would be needed to swap my 2008 2.7 for the 4.0? I have a regular cab SR5 and the V6 was not an option.

lol, I'd suggest just trading your truck in and getting the V6 Access Cab.

You'll need to swap everything from the engine to the transfer case. Not to mention the electronics needed to get the engine working. You'll need a custom length drive shaft (not too big of a deal) and you'll probably need some work on your suspension to carry the added weight of the V6 + 4WD transmission.

ah not too sure with tacomas. i did a 2.3 to a 4.0 in a ranger last month in less than a week. but the problems i ran into which might be similar was engine mounts so had to buy soled engine mounts and welded them in. also make sure the wire harness from the i4 snaps together with the v6 cause it is a pain in the ass to swap out the wiring behind the dash. most use the same as the v6 but some models dont. but it was totally worth it.

The access cab would be an easy fix. I have no need for the extra space and only like the look of the regular cab. I guess I am in kind of a pickle.
