I'm getting a heavy vibration while accelerating at speeds up to about 60. I thought it might be some sputtering or something so I added some gas treatment to the tank with no remedy. Has anyone had this issue with an 06 prerunner?

When that happened to me it was my u-joints. Also have had a similar feeling from a bad carrier bearing (center support bearing).

I agree with the above ^^^^. To check the universal joints remove the drive shaft and move each joint, it will probably be obvious.

If you find a bad one replace them all as the others will not be far behind the bad one.

What would cause it to be out of balance?

It turned out to be the U Joints after all. Thanks again for the insight on solving the problem... that vibration was driving me crazy!!

There is always a lot of help in this forum.

I hope they replaced all three universal joints, if not don't be surprised if the vibration returns.
