I most definitely want to get one of the reinforcement plate but what I don't like is the way the top lip raps around the top of the tail gate. From what I have seen it looks like there is a big dap between the tail gate and the plate . Dos anyone have a better pic of what it looks like from the outside ?

Talked with toyota today...they will NOT fix or replace my tailgate.

WE should write letter to them and explain the issue...explain how there is a company specifically making kits to make them stronger because it is an issue...

    who's with me?

They'll just turn their heads and look the other way. Similar to the same shit that Chevy does. This (along with a grocery list of other reasons) is exactly why the American economy is going down the drain.

Relentless Armored! Too many others to list.
Looks like this thread has earned us some orders over the last few days. Thanks for the orders everyone! We're building another 20 of them this week to fill the orders but are out of stock at the moment. Expect bare orders to start shipping next week and PC ones probably 1-2 weeks from then.
Any questions just PM me and I'm happy to help

Just curious why you think the wrap around lip creates the strength? From what I'm looking at, the large flat surface is what provides the protection due to dispersing the load over a large area. I can see how the lip would provide additional protection for the guys hauling heavy things. I would say that if they ribbed the aluminum, they could make it stronger than leaving it flat.

I'm curious to know if they are using 3003-H14 or 5052-H32 grade aluminum.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
The wrap around part is where the new piece gets is strength from. Similar when looking at aluminum pans. If there is a crease, it will be much more rigid.

In the below pan, the strength is obtained by the creases in the middle and outside. The old tailgates had this design in the structure, but Relentless' fix does not have room, so the lip will provide some strength.

Does anyone have pics of the Relentless Fab tailgate thing while the bed is up? I'm always sketched out just sitting on my tailgate, but I'm not sure if I like the look of the lip of the Relentless product going over the edge of the tailgate.

The two metal tie downs in the front of the bed and the two swivel type d-rings. First time using them to hold down an engine, thought I was gonna rip the tie downs out of the bed.

Nearly all of the strength is from the bends in the sheet. Flat sheet is weak when laid flat, the bends give dimension and requires the metal to stretch or compress in order to bend rather than flat sheet just bowing easily.
    Aluminum grade is 5052

I'll try and snap one and post it up.

What kind of weight are these aluminum pieces capable of withstanding Relentless Fab?

Haha, how about 15% off one when I order one for myself. :D:p

I ran the truck by my dent guy yesterday to have him look at it. I'm happy to say the guy works friggin miracles. He got it out almost 99% perfect with paintless dent removal despite the crease being outward. Best part, he did it for free. So all that huff and puff with the dealership was just a big waste of time. I called the service manager and let him know anyway and thanked him for his time and trouble.
