Has anyone else experienced a rattle out of either side window where it sounds like the glass itself is rattling? I have been trying to track down a super annoying rattle for a while out of the passenger side.

Before you suggest the regulator or the bolts holding the window are the issue, they are not. I have checked it all out. Window is tight on regulator and there is no play in the window if you try to pull it up or push it down.

Possible guide issue? I've been up and down on this thing, but I have not been able to find the source of the rattle. Anything less than a smooth road usually makes it rattle too.

Yes I have the same issue. Everything is tight on mine too.

I suspect it could be solved (temporarily) if you change out the rubber guides that insulate the glass from the window frame, but the part is something like $80 so I didn't feel it was a worthwhile pursuit. My theory is that it gets loose over time and that makes the glass jiggle around inside of it. On higher trim vehicles you will notice that same guide is often made of a soft felt that has more of a cushioning effect and dampens noise.. so yeah another case where the Taco was built to a price point.

That's the thing, I look at mine and it seems like it is felt, but im thinking the chance does exist that it is still worn out and just needs replacing. I'm hoping someone else will chime in who has encountered and solved this issue. I know we can't be the only ones.

I have the same rattle on my 2nd gen, I came to find out it is the window visor slighly riddling on the back driver side window. I removed the window visor replace the double sided tape and pressed it a bit higher. Rattle gone.

That's not the one I'm talking about. The actual plastic/rubber guides along the sides and top of the frame is the one that gets less supple over time and lets the glass rattle.

You have a 2019, yours is different from our 2nd gens (albeit not by much).

I have both a 3rg gen and a 2nd gen. The 2nd Gen is the one that had the rattle on the back driver side. I have no issues with my 3rd Gen.

In the past I've taken the door panel off, removed the 6x1.0 bolts from the regulator and moved the window up and down while looking. Might need new guides/channels whatever they're called

I almost feel like the actual issue is the piece in the pictures you showed me highlighted 67401/ 67402 2015WhiteOR. After googling what it looks like in actual photos I'd be more inclined to believe that is the issue. I believe those are labeled guides. Are these the ones you guys are talking about which are suspect in their potential "cheap build quality?"

The glass is rigidly held in place by the regulator with 2 bolts, and the regulator is mostly rigid and held to the door inner frame with bolts and really only moves up and down (there is some side play).

But the glass also runs vertically inside of a track, which is that "run channel", which is made of plastic and smooth rubber. On higher end cars that same channel is felt-lined which means if the glass were to jiggle inside it, you wouldn't hear it because the texture of the felt dampens sound waves. On a civilian work truck like a Taco, it's just smooth rubber so you can hear the glass jiggle inside it and the sound bounces around until you hear it while driving.

I think it's a design issue. Maybe there's a place you could add some small thin strips of foam to make the glass jiggle less, but you'd have to find it.

Oh no, I know where the regulator is and what it does. Haha. What I'm asking is if the item I circled in red is the guide in question which is possibly worn out, or if it's the entire run channel piece that is most likely done for?

It's such a dumb issue, and you figure for $33,000 they wouldn't be such a miserable POS company on such a trival item. Lol.

Here is a pic I took a while back while I was diagnosing the jiggle on my front passenger door. The highlighted thing is the guide channel where the glass sits inside. The bracket you had circled cannot be seen but I think it does not actually touch the glass at all.

I had this issue for a long time and it pissed me off quite a bit.

Ended up taking a small piece of plastic from any generic packaging (the kind that sucks to open without cutting yourself) and folded it over to make a kind of v-shaped spring about 2" long. Jammed that in behind the triangular trim piece down in the front corner. That forced the guide or rubber or whatever it was to take up the extra space and prevent the window from rattling.

Really wish I could find the pics I took, it would be much easier to understand but no idea where those are. I found pushing on the glass with the window partly open (same conditions that rattled on the road) I narrowed it down to that small vertical section in the front. I think youll understand if you do the same.

This helps! I appreciate the picture brother!

Keep searching for the photos. I'm trying to think of what kind of shipping product it is you are talking about, but I can't think of it all actually. I'm more of a visual learner. Lol.

I've had this issue for at least a year or two now, it's a really stupid issue to have but an issue nonetheless and worse because there is no detectably noticable way to see how it is defective even if there is a passenger on the side it's acting up on to look for where the rattle is coming from actively checking.

I think its called clamshell style packaging, the really terrible stuff to open that is universally hated. But the plastic type doesn't really matter. Just thick enough to maintain some spring when bent into a V to apply some pressure

Took the interior triangular trim off and put it in there. Probably wedged between the door and #2 in your screen shot above, not #3. Like I said I was able to easily recreate the noise just by pressing or tapping on the window and narrowed it down quick

Yeah see mine has not been easy to trace down like it was for you. It doesn't matter what position the window is at, it does it, but it's not something I can do by hand for some reason. The noise is unmistakably a window rattling though. I almost thought it was a loose regulator for a long time but apparently these guides or whatever the hell Broyota calls them are culprits of noises too.

this is the part that’s messed up in mine. it seems to have lost all the felt lining and started rattling and now gets stuck on the way up. does anyone know where i could get a replacement part or any idea how to fix it?
