    I’m Rick, a new member and new Tacoma owner. Hunt went on for a couple months. Finally landed on a 07 Sport with 111K miles one owner. But I have been told by other Tacoma Owners it is known as “Old man grey” even have the “old man pin stripe” lol

    I love the truck so far. I’m probably over concerned about the frame issues. I’m wondering if it had the frame replaced.

    wife calls it the the Taco TuRD!

    Where was the truck bought from and where is it located.... that is amount of rust you need to worry about. Salted areas = bad. Southwest = good.

    I have not found any rot but there is a hose that must be from running the AC drips directly on a portion of the frame that has predominantly more surface rust.

    I actually did find a significant one today in the place where I heard is the typical spot where the air conditioner condenser hose drips on the frame. I can't believe I missed when I was looking at the vehicle. I actually didn't know where to look at the time. Someone with a Tacoma showed me where to look after the fact. Pretty disappointed. Going to ask my local Toyota dealer to take a look.

    Dealership unwound the deal after I had Toyota inspect the vehicle. Got my money back. So now the hunt is back on, but probably wait till after winter. So I’m not officially a Tacoma owner anymore.

    I’m considering a first gen Tacoma. 2002 TRD off road. Has rust hole in bed small and must be on wheel well. I can reach through the wheel well from underneath and touch the plastic liner. Rest of bed is very clean. I would like them to take a 1000 off asking (asking 13,500). Help me I’m new. Frame is 5 years old BTW.
