Bad speed sensor? Or maybe loose connector to your speedo

definitely sounds like speed sensor. Had a 99 Dakota that the speedo wouldnt work unless i hit 50-55. Wouldn't rack up mileage on the ODO either under that 50-55 speed. IIRC, the sensor was on top of the differential housing.

The speed sensors are right behind the rear brakes.
You'll see the wiring and the brake lines transition from the body to axle. You may want to follow it back and make sure it hasn't been compromised.

Let me try to decipher it

Pics of what it looks like for our trucks and location.

POSS. Speedo head however you need a scan tool to read live data.

Most common at Tacoma World has been directly inside the instrument cluster itself . I think that's what Tacoma Mike is trying to say .

Your translating skills are on point there.

Pics? C'mon... @pinktaco808 I gave you a decent description of where they were on the rear axle. Take a couple pics and show US what you found. You liked that post; did you even read it?

Yes, there are 4 sensors. It's how the computer knows if a wheel locks up so the abs system knows it's a good time to try and kill you.

The abs system is something else on these trucks....

Apologies for sounding like an ahole; but we're not there to see what's going on and/ or take it apart/fix it for you.

    Good luck.

Sorry man, well today I drove it and it fine for now. It seem like on any other day it would get stuck when I first drive it for the first min or so the needle . I'll try and unplug each one and try and clean them to see if it made any difference. Mahalo

No apology needed. The tone of my previous post was less than cordial. It just gets frustrating sometimes... hence the apology at the end.
But anywho, the sensors are just held in with one bolt; 10 mm iirc.
You'll see them easy enough right behind the backing plate for the rear brakes. For the front, on my truck the sensor wire runs along the top of the UCA and down the spindle.

When you unplug them and remove the bolt, twist them back and forth. Once they start moving, continue twisting and pulling till they come out.

    Good luck.

If you got no CEL, it's not a speed sensor. You will have lots of dash lights if it was.

It's gonna be the instrument cluster.

When the speedo is inop is when the scan tool needs to be on the vehicle.
I doubt very much if it’s sensor issue because a abs light would be on.
Get someone to Read the abs inputs and if all is well head for the cluster.
Or if you want to red neck it when I’d quits give the dash a rap over
The cluster. Sometimes it might come alive and you have your answer.
The worse it gets the easier it is to diag.
