    Have you asked him?
If he's a Mennonite and you ask him respectfully, you'll probably be successful.
Wear clean work clothes, trim your beard, try to look responsible... and be sure to not use any swear words

If you think you may get turned down, here's what you do next year:

In the Spring, ask him if you can shoot any groundhogs on his land.
That's your foot in the door
    All farmers hate groundhogs.
Be sure to actually shoot a few.
In late Summer, ask him about deer hunting.

    :fingerscrossed:

I'll take those in reverse order.

The subject of the tire markings didn't come up and I didn't ask :notsure:

He had a lot of trouble dropping the pan for the transmission fluid change and broke some bolts.
Ended up having to replace the pan and re-tap some holes.
Also had to re-tap for the O2 sensor replacement.

The previous (and only other) owner of my truck was in Utica, New York.
(I was able to look up the service history).
    You know what that means...

    @lynyrd3 :rolleyes:

That's why my truck had a brand new frame when I got it.
Toyota replaced it, along with LCAs and a few other things.
His stealership made out on that trade-in, I bet.
First thing they did was replace the frame at Toyota's expense.
Second thing they did was put on those fucking Chinese tires

Why it ended up down here I dunno.

So we had a laugh when I said there can't be many rusted parts down there any more.
New pan, and he replaced some other rusted bolts and minor stuff.

Cost me $900 bucks but hey... the truck still only has 70k on it and rides like new.
Engine is excellent, burns zero oil.

    As to the tires... yeah.
They're night and day compared to those shitty Chinese Westlakes.
Used to be, I could spin those tires without trying... no traction.
    Not now.
I can confidently drive the truck on the roads this Winter when there's snow or ice (within reason).
    Decent tires are critical.

Mind you, I've owned 4x4 trucks in the past and here's the deal:
4WD gets you going more easily and improves your control somewhat, but does nothing to improve your braking.
Which is how a lot of people come to grief on wintry roads.

So why didn't I replace those tires before now (I hear you asking)?
Cuz I don't drive many miles any more... and I'm cheap AF

    :)

    Thanks again :fistbump:
