whats the diff

prerunner and just a normal taco 4x4 or is there any ?

 

the difference is the pre-runner is two wheel drive with the ride height of a 4x4.

 

5 lug = Taco with an I4 and 2wd. It sits very low to the ground.

PreRunner = Taco 2wd, with I4 or V6 Engines, and has he same suspension and ground clearence of the 4x4.

4x4 = Taco with the ability to power all for wheels

X Runner = 5 Lug Taco with the V6 engine. Only available in access cab with a 6 speed manual, comes with a body kit and some good looking wheels.

The term itself originated from the Baja racing circuit. Pre-Runners were, just as the name implies, trucks built to pre-run the course before the actual race. Pilot and navigator, or other team members, would take the pre-runner truck out to learn the course at a slightly more leisurely pace than they would be racing it for real. So basically WE PRERUNNERS run a circiut before them 4x4 guys get their toes wet

i know of the prerunners i have always been interested in the corr trucks and have always whanted to build a baja/dune rig...but thats another project!.........just wasnt sure if the prerunner taco had different spindles mount locations or what .....
