SCS lists their F5 16x8" wheels as having 4.5" backspacing but with an offset of 0. However, from my understanding, if the offset is zero and you have an 8" wide wheel, the backspacing is 4".

They do the same with the Ray 10. 16x8 but they list it at -12mm offset but with 4" backspacing. That doesn't add up either. If offset is -12, then the backspacing is more like 3.5".

I ask because when I'm trying to find wheels and comparing stock measurements vs. aftermarket for proper fitment, the offset/backspacing is important.

edit: i attached a visual. notice the backspacing on the right wheel.

You discovered rim width vs. wheel width.

You can use this formula too.
    [(rim width+1)/2] + (+/-offset) = backspace

    e.g.

    [(7+1)/2] + (+13)
    [8/2] + 13
    4" + 13mm = 4.51" backspace

    [(8+1)/2] + 0
    [9/2] + 0
    4.5" + 0mm = 4.5" backspace

    [(8+1)/2] + (-12)
    [9/2] - 12
    4.5" - 12mm = 4" backspace

    Hey commbubba19,

Are you going with SCS wheels?

I was looking at the Ray 10, 16x8, and just trying to confirm there'll be no issues putting on my stock SR5.
