Wheels on upgraded tires

Looking to upgrade to BFG K02 275/70/17 tires. Looking at upgrading the wheels as well. Out of curiosity, would the stock 2016 TRD sport rims fit on the BFGs no problem? Or would I need a different size wheel for the BFGs?

For example, would a method roost wheel, with 17x8.5 specs, fit on the 275/70 wheel just fine? Or would I need additional components like spacers to make it fit?

 

I would stick to 265/70/17 load range C to save a lot of weight, and yes, they will fit no problem.

 

I ended up going with the BFG KO2 275/70/17 with the method wheels. They look sweet, but now I have rubbing on the front driver and passenger sides when I turn full lock. I don't have any mudguards. What can I do to fix the rubbing?

Sure those are the specs? It reads 5 lug..... Anywho, lift it and start cutting what rubs

 

How about spacers for the front tires? Would that remedy the problem?

 

Could make it worse hitting the wheel wells instead depending on the spacer size.

 

This was good advice and would have likely avoided the rubbing, saved weight, power and mpgs.

Turn the wheels to lock, have someone hold them there and get out and look for contact points. Not sure on the 3rd gen but the 2nd gens would also rub on the mini front flaps in front of the front tire. Not to be confused with mud flaps. As mentioned spacers may make the problem worse. Your wheel size is also a bit wider than ideal, a 7.5" wheel (like OEM) would likely help the tires not rub.

 

I ended up swapping the tires to 265/70/17 and no rubbing on full lock. Problem solved. I am still considering wheel spacers though to get that aggressive stance. I plan on using spidertrax 1.25" with extended lugs. Thoughts?

 

Spacers that large may reintroduce rubbing issues, especially with your wider wheels.

 

I have 265/75/16's with 16x8 Method double standards that have 4.5" of BS. I installed 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers and my tires didn't rub until I added spacers. My remedy was to go to town on the inner fender wells and pinch weld. Then I rattle canned it to prevent future rust and no more rubbing at full lock.

 

This may not be the place to ask this question but... Can I run 285 75r16 on stock wheels without wheel spacers since I have aftermarket uca's??
