That's what I did. The shop should know what % is on the rear. I told my guy to match the rear and he did a great job.

    She's gone but not forgotten.
Tint shop that did my fronts said the same thing, if the DOT approved the vehicle tint level, it's legal period. Of course that doesn't stop a cop with an bug up his arse from giving you a hard time about it....

hmm... according to the website mentioned in the orginal post, you are allowed to tint the side windows in CA (just to 70%):
    http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA/

    California Tint Law Enacted: 1999
Windshield - Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows - Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows - Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window - Any darkness can be used.

but i have been pulled over just for tinted windows and given a fix-it ticket for it (huntington beach). but i have driven for 4 years on my current truck w/o any cop issues.

Ok guys, I made the deal today! I am getting my front 2 windows tinted for $60!(The guy usually charges $80 but he cut me a deal since I know him!) He said it would take about an hour and he is doing it this Thursday! Im worried how the cold will effect how it sticks, but I guess he knows what he is doing, I mean he is the number one tint shop in the area. Now I just got to decide what type of black tint and whether I want 32% or 35%. 32 is the lowest you can go in nc.

Also I am selling my Oakley sunglasses and my 6 x 9 speakers! That way they will help pay for the install! SO PM me if you are interested!!
