$340 for the glass, $100 for the install, $250 for the calibration. The camera is mounted. I've heard if you don't unplug the camera, no calibration is required. But obviously Safelite wants to make money, so :annoyed:

Wow -that is nuts. I figured a company of that size would have pretty standard pricing. And you are probably right - if it's Pilkington the angle should be exactly the same. Unclip mirror off of old windshield and clip onto new. No calibration needed.

I would think there's both angle and planar dimension changes from stock because the seal isn't solid. So the camera should be recalibrated regardless

I'm not sure if we're talking glass quality or installation quality here. If it's glass quality then Pilkington is a very good choice. My top pick, however, is Saint-Gobain Sekurit. There's a lot of low quality Chinese glass on the market to watch out for.

Brand new 2019 windshield cracks from the top edge down with no chips at all! Parked in the garage no less and the crack now has grown across the whole windshield. Hope this is not a sign.....

Just got a quote today for Pilkington $435 installed. Yikes. The repair was $65, and it's decent but you do see some spidering from inside. I'm going to ante up eventually - He told me the calibration is so expensive because the software license is $18,000 so they pass that cost on to consumers.
He also told me there's 3 warehouses in the area - they stock the Chinese stuff and the Pilkington.

There are currently some supply chain issues but the more common your vehicle is the more likely the local warehouse will have it.
