Windshield sprayers

We've probably talked about this before, but are there better windshield sprayers that are plug and play?

I've been driving a 2017 for four months while Toyota replaced my frame. I'm now getting used to the truck not unlocking when I grab the handle, and I mostly remember to get my keys out of my pocket before I sit down in the driver's seat. But, I sure do miss those nice windshield sprayers. If I can crawl a junk yard and grab some plug and play sprayers that actually spray I'd be a happy man.

 

Did you try just putting new OEM in? Mine were kind of clogged, then I wallowed them out trying to clean them.ended up just grabbing new OEM at like $5/each and they are way better.
Not fan spray or anything fancy though!

 

2005-2015 sprayers aren't plug-n-play?

 

They spray fine. It's just that it's those two individual pathetic streams instead of a nice distributed spray pattern.

I don't know, are they? Do they spray a better pattern?

Those will install in the hood and has a spray pattern VS the jet stream.

 

Might have to give these a try. Still need to drill out the fiberglass hood. How is the window coverage from the stock distance?

Dunno, would depend on pump PSI and laminar flow of the tubing. FYI I have not used these myself but another 1st gen owner has with good results, ESP for $11.

 

The dorman ones are leaky. I've been down this road before, it's not worth it IMO unless someone knows of another SMALL car with a high angled windshield that has a fan spray pattern. I tried nozzles off of random cars, all were too wide and ended up practically spraying the car next to you. It was embarassing. Just stick with what works. It's not that big of a deal. If they aren't aimed right, use a needle or a toothpick in the hole and re-aim them.

 

You can get some from a rav4 if you want 3 streams instead of 2.

 

Thanks. For $11 I'm going to try them. That's cheaper than I can get sprayers out of the junkyard.

 

Please post back up with your results, pics or a short video would be awesome too! I also hate our "stream" sprayers and have been looking for a plug and play option to get more of a "fan" spray. I previously had a 2008 Jeep JK that had AWESOME windshield sprayers, wonder if they would fit...

You can get those Dorman sprayers at pretty much any local auto parts store. Go ahead and try it, I ended up returning mine shortly afterwards. Leaks all over the hood.

 

Do you mean they leak when the windshield washer is off? Not sure why that would happen the sprayer is higher than the reservoir.

 

no, they leak and dribble on the hood when you spray it.

 

Mine do the same. Got from AutoZone. They do spray pretty good tho. I like them enough to keep. Have had em for a few years now. A little dribble doesnt bother me considering the better performance. If you spray just a little burst at a time, they don't dribble much. They're also adjustable. It does take a couple tries to get it just right when first adjusting.

 

They came today and I installed them. The pattern is nice. I think it's a little wider than the nozzle body allows, which makes it dribble down the edges of the body onto the hood. I'm going to try it for a while.

I'm a shitty photographer, and I shot video where I intended to shoot pictures once, but I'm sure you can live with it.

Thanks for taking the pics and videos, little dribble on the hood like everyone said however the spray pattern definitely looks better!
