Been lurking for a while on here and figured why not.

Man, I really waited a long time to get a taco and not out of hesitation. I've always wanted one and always said it would be brand new. I finally picked up my 2019 TRD Sport DCLB 2/19, almost exactly a month after my wife and I found out we had our first child on the way. I had just got her a new rav 4, and she begged me to go get the Tacoma. After trying to talk myself out of it, I pulled the trigger and couldn't imagine life without it. Fucking crazy how small the back seat becomes with a car seat in it. Good thing I just found an ARE V series.

Unfortunately, the days of lift kits, skid plates, and beating it like i stole it are over for this guy for at least the next decade. I guess at least by that point the warranty will be up and I'll do what we do best.

What i have:

-Barcelona Red 2019 TRD sport DCLB
-Toyota black ARE cap
-Terrible 6mo old hoop step bars off ebay that look 10 years old. (I know you get what you pay for, but my god.)

My plans for now:
-Plastidip wheels black for time being before a simple offset black rim. Debating on using glossifier.
- Removing bedside decals and either leaving bare or putting on black TRD decals with a flag incorporated.
-swapping grille for an l black maybe SR5 grille since i have the TSS sensor
-under bed rail bed lights that work with the cargo light.
removing the shit step bars and installing some OEM cast aluminum running boards i just picked up.

My goal with this hog is "less is more" with a mix of "daily driver that is capable if need be." I had an xterra that I loved dearly that fit this perfectly.

The ol' sexterra for the heck of it. Thing was 40% plastidip, but 100% pantie dropper in the day.

I have 2 kids in carseats. Back seat is definitely tight, but works for them for now. I bought mine new and still wheel it. Sliders were the very first mod I put on the car and it's saved my ass on numerous occasions. Go for it.

Black out is life. Debating on taking the badging right off as well. Sometimes it's good though. I'll see how the taco looks once i remove the rear decals.

Chip strap is gone now, too.

 

Had some time to install some new take off OEM cast aluminum running boards i got a hold of cheap. Need them for the better half otherwise they wouldn't be there. Also removed the chin strap while I was crawling around on the ground.
