V6 4x4 6spd, 89 midgrade winter gas

- Open single sled trailer @ 1000 lbs, 16 mpg cold, 17mpg warmer(near/above freezing).

- 102" wide Open double sled trailer @ 1500 lbs, 14 mpg cold, 15 mpg warmer.

 

V6 4x4 Automatic, factory towing package, 87 octane, summer only

- 21' camper, approx 5000# loaded, average 10 MPG

 

16' bumper pull double axle, loaded with a chevelle minus motor guessing total about 4200 lbs., 90*temps with premimum fuel, combination of open roads 65mph and stop and go in town. 13mpg.

26ft tt approx 5100lbs loaded 9-10 mpg's

18 ft toyhauler loaded 5500lbs- 11-12mpg(7 mpg against the wind)

The Mrs.: 07 Dodge HD 4x4 with 6.7L Cummins pulling 10,000 horse trailer: 15 mpg

We should all drive 6500# trucks, that's where the mileage is........
Sarcasm on account of the fact the most people on the dodge forums state around 15 - 16mpg unloaded.......
Anyhow with my '09 4 cyl 4X4 70 mph 2700# camper, 900# gear - 15 mpg (us mpg, like the rest).

 

how do yall manage to keep it so high. i barely get 14 with no weight. yall lifted with bigger tires?

 

Actually, that's probably about right. My wife gets 15-17 mpg in her Dodge towing or hauling or empty. That's the magic of the diesel.

I get the best gas mileage in my Tacoma when I don't accelerate quickly and keep my speed around 55 - 60 mph.

 

05 DC 4x4 using Premium Gas

Trailer 5500# loaded.

Have ranged from 7mpg in strong headwind to 11mpg.

20mpg when not towing

 

Loaded back prob 300 with a shell and 19' Travel Trailer at 4500 # I averaged 10 going 65 to 70.

 

Wind is your biggest killer of MPG.
I get better mileage (13.? US MPG) towing my 6500# tractor and only (11.? US MPG) towing my 4200# boat. Never hit below the 11 mark, but I'm sure if I were to pull a camper or any other brick box it would. I'm not a very hard driver with these loads, so I rarely see over 60 MPH.

 

07 trd sport 265/70/17 ATs 91-93 octane when i tow

6200 lb boat. right at 6500 lbs with gear, food, drinks, etc

9-10 mpg when it's windy and/or hilly 10-11 mpg with no wind and/or flatter terrain

 

A 09' Acess Cab 4x4, V6 with 250lb cap/etc. Pulling a 2,400 lb featherlite trailer loaded with a MC at 70 mph - 10mph. At 65 mph and drafting 18 wheelers only improved it to 11.5 mph. It still hauled a$$ all the way from Wisconsin to daytona and back.

 

truck: double cab, 4x4, shortbed, 3" lift, 33" tires

travel trailer: 17', single axle, ~3500 lbs loaded up

9-10 mpg when towing (16-17 mpg when not towing)

 

4200 lbs dry and get about 10.5 at 63mph. Will go faster but just sucks the fuel. Oh yea 87 octane. Going to have to try the higher octane on next trip and see if it makes a difference.

 

I probably average 10 mpg at about 63 mph/ 2600 rpm's in drive. I just tried higher octane my last trip, but haven't filled up yet. It seems to be getting better mileage since changing to the AFE drop in filter. Will let you know if it increases. Wonnelly- Where's the pics man?
