I have one on my truck.

I have an avital. not the best but it works. Use it when the pup is in the truck and its hot/cold. Other than that i never use it.

most of the time my truck will not start on the first attempt, but it knows the truck is not started and will try again in about 10 sec. Usually starts the 2nd time.

Did you install it? Plug-n-play, or did you have to do a lot of wiring? Cost?

no, i had a "reputable" shop install it. This is the same shop that told me they would install a pop-n-lock at the same time for $20 so i said go for it.

What i ended up getting was door actuators that would cause my tailgate to fall down. Would be nice if i had a shaved tailgate and some easy down tailgate struts, but i dont so the tailgate just slams down...

After doing some research it doesnt look like it would be hard to install. Its just tapping into wires.

was it because of all the electrical tape used?? I can imagine how much time he spent wrapping that one wire...

Was more just the thought of you hitting that button for the first time and the tailgate falling. Im sorry that happened. You fix it by now?
