sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I’m looking for this connector specifically. It attaches to the neutral safety switch. I need just the connector with the wires still attached to the connector.

Thanks! Hoping to get one soon as I can cause my truck can’t start unless someone holds the wires in place right now. It’s either a new connector or somehow make it so the wires can’t vibrate out.

    Connector P1 and part number.

This part number will get you the plastic housing.

Toyota sells pigtails. To build a complete connector you'll need

    7 x 82998-24250 (500mm pigtails)
    2 x 82998-12440 (160mm pigtails)

Alternatively for the larger contacts there's these. They are 500mm pigtails. I'll have to look into what the two part numbers mean, I think they are different colors sleeves (insulation).

    82998-12590 (24400)
    82998-12800 (24410)

If I have all the wires on mine I have now will I need those other parts? I just want a connector and to splice some new wires onto a new connector cause mine broke off the connector I have on my truck now.

Is it possible to buy the crimp tool and pins? Would that be cheaper?

If I understand your question, I think the explanation is the part numbers I gave you are as thought you cut the plug off your truck's harness and you have 9 cut wires hanging there. You'd strip them and splice the 9 pigtails on the bare wires and then insert the new pigtail contacts into the plastic connector.

Yes, it is possible to get the contacts alone and crimp them on the wires. But not directly from Toyota.

I only have two wires that are disconnected, the other 7 are all connected still. If it’s possible to release the pins then I could get away with buying two of those probably and then attach those to my current harness. The number 5 and 9 are the ones that are not connected, all the others are fine. Is it possible to insert a tool into one of the holes and release the pins?

There is a special little tool for that, it's a very thin flat plate, sort of looks like if you took a small flat blade screwdriver and flattened the whole thing. Like a mini butterknife or something. You could probably make something similar by cutting a real narrow strip from an aluminum can and folding it in half.

    Look up terminal numbers.

Building Toyota part numbers 82998-12440, 82998-12590, 82998-12800, 82998-12460 pigtails use

    For .3-.5 mm2 (22-20 AWG) wire, Sumitomo p/n: 8100-0460
    For .5-1.25 mm2 (20-16 AWG) wire, Sumitomo p/n: 8100-0461
    For 2.0 mm2 (14 AWG) wire, Sumitomo p/n: 8100-0462

    https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=662

Still trying to find the Sumitomo part number for the 82998-24250.

Okay, so the 5 and 9 I should be able to disconnect, meaning I could probably just buy two wires? Am I correct in thinking that? Sorry, I’m really bad at electrical things, don’t have as much experience with electrical stuff as engine stuff..

Yup, if you can release the broken terminals from the plastic connector without breaking anything you can just cut the wire and splice on new pigtails and snap them in. That's why Toyota sells them that way, it's easier to cut and solder a wire than to strip and crimp a terminal.

Just to make sure it's clear, Toyota calls the plastic housing part "connector" and the contacts & wires "terminals".

Worst case if you do break the plastic you could buy just the connector and the 2 pigtails you need, then release the other 7 wires and reuse them as is.

And since the wire usually breaks near the housing if you did just crimp on a new terminal the wire would be an inch or two too short anyway. Having raw terminals is only useful if you replace the whole connector or are re-wiring the whole circuit.

Okay, that’s awesome to know! Thank you! I’ll have to try and find a way to release those, if not I’ll see if I can find the correct tool somewhere and then go from there!

They aren't super complex. There's two size of them to cover most terminals.

This is all they look like. Just be careful if you use something else, like a screwdriver. If it's too thick it can crack the housing. Take an old screwdriver and file some of the shaft flat, for example.
