Hey everyone. Long time stalker of this thread and fist post in a long time. I bought a Black 2018 Tacoma Sport and removed the white pinstripes myself with WD-40 and my finger nails. The pin stripe was definatley painted on. It came off pretty easy but after buffing and washing multiple times I still have specs of white on the truck. I can go and swipe at each microscopic piece and they do wipe off so it’s not attached to the paint. Any ideas of a quick and easy way to get rid of all of this. I will take a picture at lunch to show what I am dealing with.

    I'd try a clay bar.

No fading at all. I asked the dealer if they thought it was safe and they told me stripe was put on less than a month before I bought it.

If you removed it with your fingers, it was not painted on.

Failing desired results with a clay bar, a dual action polisher with a very light cutting compound will make easy work of it.

It would be very odd to be painted on. I used the 3M pinstripe removal wheel on my decals and it worked well. Feels like it's grinding the metal but it's perfectly safe.

Dealer still put on pinstripes? That’s old school.

Every Tacoma at my dealer had pinstripes. Even had a little Toyota logo in it. I asked them to not put them on mine when I ordered. Saved me a good hour or two of removal.

or a sharp utility blade, I used to remove them with this when I did body work, not a big deal if you know how to do it...

The dealer said they painted them on. Definitely felt like scraping paint rather than pulling adheasive. Either way it’s off. I’ll try the clay bar and see what happens. Thanks everyone.

For nice flat surfaces, I'd be ok with that. But you gotta be careful not to nick the paint. The wheel is pretty fool proof, but messy.

agree...I am thinking about changing mine to another color since I do like it and it splits the color up a little..

And a couple hundred bucks too. They charge out the ass for that shit and add it on to the sticker.
