Shouldn't rub, especially if you have stock wheels.

 

I have a stock base access cab 4x4 V6. Not sure if that make any difference.

Never thought I would put new tires on a truck that only has 200 miles on it. Went with ko2’s and they ride great, probably better that the stock tires.

 

Damn, I can’t wait to my tires on now!!! I was nervous about rubbing until I saw these pics you guys posted.

 

265/75/16 KO2s. Thought about 285 but these tires have been great on moderate trails and great on the street.

 

265/75r16 Cooper ST/maxx on stock suspension. Have Bilstein 6112’s waiting to go on next week along with 5160’s

 

What suspension are you running with those tires?

 

On icon stage 2 lift. Coilovers up front are at Icon spec. Haven't adjusted them yet. Been happy with the suspension as is

Quick question on the ST Maxx 265/75r16. Could you live with that tire in that size w/o the lift or do you feel like they are too oversized to drive "as is" on the stock suspension OR? Do you have any pics showing the profile view of the sidewall on the OR wheel?

I could live with it the way the truck currently sits.Having said that I’ve only had the truck for roughly a week and have barely driven it. Off road the clearance might be a little tight.

My original intent was to go 4/3 setting on the Bilsteins for roughly 1.1 inch of lift but I’m debating just doing the 3/2 for .55 inches

 

Those of you guys running load range E tires (KO2's, STMAXX's, etc.) how many MPG's did you lose on average? I'm planning out my next tire purchase and am currently running standard load 265/75/16 Hankook's. I'm wondering how much of a hit I'll take going up to a load "E" since it's only a weight increase, not a height increase. Hate that more tires aren't offered in load "C" for a 16" wheel.

Question for everyone...

I am new to the upgrading world.... I recently purchased BFG KO2 All-terrain 265/75/r16 tires. I thought this was the most important upgrade and I heard that many people avoid rubbing on stock wheels with no lift. Worked great!

A month later, I purchased the coveted SCS wheels, specifically: "Stealth 6" 16x8 wheels. Immediately driving off, I had major rubbing on the side walls. I took off the mud flaps and still had this problem. I think the problem is that my stock wheels were 16x7 and now the 16x8 wheels with an offset is causing rubbing with the same exact tires.

Side note: I do not have any lift... however, I plan on adding a leveling kit for now: 2in front, 1 in rear.

Do you all know if this will work and avoid rubbing? I want to know how much lift I might need to avoid this. Thanks a bunch!

 

Truck looks good! Yeah the reason you are rubbing is due to the offset on the wheels. The lift will help a little but the best thing to invest in are some upper control arms so you can adjust the caster as necessary. I use the SPC UCA and has worked great. My rims are 16x8 with -12 offset with the same tires you have. Doing this now will allow you to move up to larger tires in the future (plus a possible cmc).
