Skid Plate Help

    So I was looking at skid plates online for a possible puchase for my truck and then I realized, my 08 Reg. Cab doesn't have one. I'm assuming I can install one but I'm not sure what application to get (can oly find them for a Tundra or Tacoma TRD package) and how hard the install is.

    I've got the 5-lug base reg. cab model. Is there any possibility of a skid plate installation for me ?

    A good Fab Shop can make you a custom skid for whatever you want covered. Check your phone book, and see whats out there. :)

    So does this mean there's no aftermarket sid plates available for my truck ? There's a stock one on on toyotapart.com. Will that fit ?

    I bought a Toyota skid plate from my autobroker buddy, who got it direct from a dealership...the Toyota part number I have is PT212-35050. This should work for you, too. You can click on my photo gallery to see what it looks like.

    Somewhat on topic, how thick should a good skid plate be? The factory one that comes on FJ's and the TRD Offroad Rugged Trail looked kinda thin, but I know nothin' on the topic.


    ... well, at least I know the plastic 'skid plate' on old Accords don't last long with old ladies who ride up on the curb -_-

    I think 1/8" is a good thickness for skid plates. :)
