    Hi Everyone,

I have a stock 2019 Taco off-road that I want to take on some easy off-roading to get me started. I'm not looking at scratching the truck off road stuff, just some cool fun off-roading around shaver lake.
I saw Bald Mountain as a possible option and was wondering if you guys recommend it.

    Thanks!

Get yourself some Forest Service MVUMs for the area and get a friend and go driving. If the trail gets too hard, you can always turn back.

There are a few apps you can get that have all sorts of trails. I like Backcountry Navigator, other people like Gaia. One that's good for MVUMs (to get georeferenced MVUMs for your GPS/phone) is Azenza. The interface on that one is a little clunky, but I like that you can get the MVUMs (for free) on your phone. Definitely get the paper maps, too, though. Way easier to plan out routes. The GPS is just got confirming where you are on the map.

There are some websites you can look at like alltrails, and there are endless books out there with trails and descriptions for easy/moderate trails.

Oh, and if you don't want to scratch your truck, maybe don't go, lol.

Bald Mountain is easy, just make sure you've got some quality tires and a means to air down/up.

I went out there exploring, by myself, and went during mud/snow which was fun as hell. All I had were my traction boards and 2" lift.
