Well all that work was for nothing lol, was even louder after I greased them up and put it back together. Thought the whole front end was going to come apart when I drove away

On the bright side it quieted down quite a bit in the way home, maybe the grease just needed to work it's way around, who knows. Still noisy though. Just gonna order some fking JBAs and be done with these SPCs.

On the bright side, got the UCAs off and back on in under 2 hours so swapping them out will be a piece of cake. Minus the pain to my wallet

If you want em you can take them, first time we took them out to replace the bushings we found the inner metal sleeves on the arms had some pitting from water getting in them, so I'm thinking it's probably just better at this point to get new ones. That might be what's causing the noise idk

I hope you know I'll never say no to free parts:laughing:

How deep was the pitting? I wonder if the squeeking could be mitigated by using a bushing that doesn't have any metal outer sleeve?

There's no metal outer sleeve, just a poly bushing and inner metal sleeve. The bushing gets pressed in, and I know we greased the outside before pressing it. So I don't really see how the pitting would cause the noise but it's the only other thing I can think of.

Oh for some reason I thought the whitelines had a metal outer sleeve that made contact with the pitted metal of the control arm.

I know it's all back together now and you can't take any measurements but what was the condition of the long bolt that goes through the arm? I know it's not the same AT ALL but I've had mower decks with squeaky belt tensioners.. even after new belts and bearings and springs. The bolt that held the tensioner arm would be wallowed out enough that it would squeal but not break

Whitelines may very well have that, but those are for the lower arms, these are SPC spec ride bushings for the uppers

That's a good point I didn't think to check the condition of the long bolts. They appeared to be in good shape but I didn't really look them over closely. If I replace the arms I'll pick up new bolts to be safe

Damn spc has their own spec? Doubt my Sonora steel bushings would work then lol

I wish you luck, i loathe chasing noises like this :( it's why I'm shotgun blasting a solution by replacing 100% of everything steering and suspension related ALL at the same time, that way I'll get all the birds stoned with one throw

Or I'll still have problems and have zero plan of attack since I changed everything at once:laughing::homer:

That's pretty much me. New upper and lower bushings, ball joints, rack bushings, etc and it's noisier than ever lol

Sat in our local waste collection event line for 2 hours this morning. Regret waiting but I had 3 gallons of used brake fluid and a ton of mixed fluids the auto parts stores won’t touch. My roommate left it all in my oil pans and collection containers.

At one point I get to the coolant pickup zone and some dude working the event grabs hold of my shell latch and start pulling on it super hard. I had a bit of an argument with him and looked like a dick to all the non-car people volunteering. But damn if I was going to let him break my 2018 Snug Top because he was stupid. Basically had to yell at him to stop touching my vehicle.

They're sending out new orders with the better boots, it's the people with the old boots they're having trouble getting replacements out to

I've thought about but man the new ones are spendy. Might take a chance on Rockauto though and see if they send me the new version.

I guess SPC will also give a discount on new arms if you send in your old ones
