BAMF 3rd Gen Recessed Raptor Style Grille

I can't say this for sure, but BAMF probably isn't housing a full factory. If it's made to order, I'm not surprised by the wait time.

 

Your comparing a Toyota factory to a small job shop there is a big difference. If we were selling 20,000 units a month you better bet your ass we would bump up production but we're not and I'm not hiring more employees just to let them go after the rush is over.

The lead time is only there because we had a rush of nearly 300 orders when it was released.

We're working on that lead time don't you worry.

 

well said @JLee and im pretty sure members knew going into it that the wait time was just that and as many have already stated well worth the wait!

It's simple ... if you don't like the wait time then don't order. I have no problem waiting cause i know the work involved in these grilles and know when it arrives it's going to be a grille thats quality made and looks badass. I'd rather BAMF take their time and do it right .. and actually for a small fabricating shop they are putting these out at a respectable rate .. kudos @JLee and the folks at BAMF

Not even half of them in the picture. We have 60+ sets on the floor right now.

 

All the pics I've seen of the red back plates look like the back plate is a brighter/different than Toy's barcelona. Is it just the pics? Also, I'm wondering how the quicksand back plate color would look on a Barcelona truck. I kind of want to go with a contrast, but I think white would look tacky on it. Black not enough contrast with grill color. Just not sure if any of the colors would be a good contrast for the red truck.

 

the red is slightly more vibrant. i'm attributing that to the wax i used on the truck as a whole, kind of darkened it.

i thought about contrast as well, but i think the red/ black scheme of the OR looks great to begin with. especially since i dipped the tailgate to kind of tie the two ends together.



quicksand could look interesting, but maybe too light. i know bronze/ copper is a popular choice for contrast with red, but i like the red/ black thing i got going on. although i am considering buying another backing plate to experiment with different paint colors.

 

Yep. Nice. I like the tailgate. I have rrentrop's black letter decals on my tailgate. I'm thinking red would be the right color for the backplate on the red trucks. I'm looking at vinyl stickers also. Wondering if i can find a similar shade of red and dark grey/black camo pattern.

 

Powder coating and wet paint will never match perfect the only way to have a perfect paint match is to paint the truck and backing plate with the same batch of paint. Pictures never show what the eye sees if anything the red is darker then the truck in person.

 

Thanks J-man (can I call you that?). I found this site with some back window decals thta have some interesting patterns. I wonder if these cut to size would adhere well to the back plate.

I don't see why not if you scuffed it up with 320 grit sand paper it would stick even better.

 

This red plasma might look interesting.

 

Naw, got side swiped last month and the shop installed the grill but can't get the Quicksand color down to repaint the passenger side.... Working on sending it to another shop now and will get those pictures up.

 

Sales folks at my dealer are flocking my truck asking about the grille
