Digital TV antenna

cable company just made it so every tv needs a box now, so now I need antennas for my TVs. Any one got reviews on one?

 

I've tried a few antennas and got the best results with a Stanley ATS-1000 antenna. Got a few when they used to be on sale at Fry's Electronics for $5.99.

Best bang for the buck was the rabbit ear tv antenna from 99 Cents Only. Placement might be an issue due to its form factor.


99 Cents Only also had this antenna, but I found that the rabbit ears performed better.


If you have an old TV antenna with a coaxial cable you can use it on your HDTV. "Digital Antenna" or something similar sounding are just marketing buzzwords.

 

Thanks, I have 3 of the budget types from when I originally got rid of cable. Never really used them, as I figured out I could still get local stations because I was still getting internet through cable company. One is the free tv, and that sucks. The other 2 work ok, but I figure there has to be better options out there now. Each one will get some of the channels, but neither gets all that are available.

I'll look into the ones you posted. And I'll have to dig in the land of the things forgotten, you know the basement, to see if I have any of those rabbit ears.

 

You can also check online and see where your local stations are located and they usually tell you where to mount and point your antennas.

Doesn't really matter what type of antenae you have ( to a point), you have to be unobstructed and somewhat close to the stations.
