Vehicle is a 2010 non-JBL TRD. Stock radio was single disc, non-nav unit (as basic as it gets).

I am trying to figure out how to run the backup camera video feed on the new HU. I would like to use it anytime but also have it turn on with reverse. My idea is to follow the guide here using a PAC VOLT-39. I will also use the reverse trigger from the mirror to trigger the radio.

I found a thread here that taps into wires by the fuse box but this way turns the mirror on. Is there an easier way to send the video from the mirror to the new HU?

I read through many threads and on the newer 2nd gens there is a camera wire going to the head unit. When I took my stock HU out, I found two plugs that have shielded wires in them. Can you help me figure out what these plugs are for? I think 1 is for the steering wheel controls.

And unless your camera shows on the factory radio, there isn’t camera wiring behind the radio. You’re stuck grabbing the wires over at the fuse box. If you don’t want the mirror to come on, just unplug the connector from the back of it

If I unplug the connector at the fuse box then I need to provide 6v power?
