You could go NFab light bar. In my opinion, not as intrusive as a bull bar and they sit higher. Still could end up being a damage multiplier but they're at least mounted higher where contact would be less likely.

Color me skeptical. Not denying it outright, but unless this brush guard was built from unusually rugged materials I'd expect that it was the bumper mount or a direct impact to the frame itself that did the actual bending, and the brush guard just went along for the ride. Was it factory or something you'd fabbed? Pics?

The acoustic he currently plays. He has a pretty good idea what to do. I see a much better acoustic in his future any ways, this one was a higher end chepo for him to learn on.

I had OME 884s on my '11 Tacoma and they were great. They added just under 2" up front. I put General HD leaf packs in the rear and got about the same. It rode a lot better after that.

I was a fan of the 5100/Eibach setup in my 2007 Tacoma. Stiffer than stock but the 5100's kept things in line pretty well.

I had to get the frame pulled.
And I think that was a front runner bull bar.

morbid thought: you can drive a brand new truck or an old beater, if someone falls off their bike on the sidewalk and their head ends up under your tire, the dash cam is still good to have for that level of liability regardless of your vehicles age.

Topper installed. I think I’m done on major projects or purchases for an adventure-mobile. I am thinking about my sleeping platform and modularity. But I want to get this road trip under my belt before I start to think about any real changes. The only thing that may happen is ditching the CB depending on its usefulness during the trip. Maybe add sound deadening. Need to figure out the best way for setting up MTB in the topper now too; but that’s a small project. I think I’m happy with the truck now for a long while.

One of my old college professors builds guitars. I know nothing about guitars, but they look gorgeous. Knowing him as a teacher, he was meticulous about everything so I expect they're great instruments. https://www.osthoffguitars.com/

My only acoustic is a VERY old one passed down from my grandfather. He bought it from a pawn shop on shore leave during WW2. It was old when he got it. I don't know who made it either. The manufacturer info wore off from the headstock. The only thing I can read is "The Acme of Perfection". I've tried researching that, and the best thing I can find is a company Grunewald-Simmons that uses the same saying, but I haven't been able to find the guitar itself. :notsure:

It looks something like this, but it has a tortoise shell and mother of pearl fretboard. The entire thing is tortoise and pearl. I'll grab a photo later if I remember.

I laughed at this on his website: "Note: Some optional items are sold like lobster, at current market prices."

Those guitars look beautiful, and I'm sure they play incredibly. But that price tag hit me in the feels.

I do but unfortunately it's run through a separate company and only records 15 before and after hard breaking or pulling G-forces.
It does this for insurance purposes, which I've yet to get into with you guys but I learned something very important about dash cams.

    Ok do what I've learned when it comes to dash cams and getting into an accident;

You basically only want to hand over just the evidence of the accident!

I'm not sure if peoples dash cams record outside as well as inside which is a huge bonus if it does on account it shows you weren't driving distracted.
For example on the phone, texting, eating, playing with the radio etc.

If you let's say give them an hours worth of video leading up to the accident and you were driving distracted, you may get into trouble.

If you were driving properly and it happens that's on them.
Hence if you were distracted during the trip and you hand over that piece of evidence, doesn't matter if it was an hour before the accident, it will contradict the accident and the lawyers will put you at fault.

But like I said not sure if everyones dash cams are recording inside as well as outside which actually is a big deal because it can prove that you weren't distracted when so called accident happened.

This is why my dash cam in my truck only records 15 seconds leading up to an incident and 15 seconds after.
If an accident happens they won't be able to prove that I was distracted.
We all know that everyone is always distracted by something at some point when we drive.
If you can't prove it though it never happened and lawyers can't do anything about it.
Which leads to cases being won, or thrown out completely.

    .
On the newer trucks we have cams on the mirrors of each side pointing into the cab because we can drive on either side and on roll- off trucks as well
