That's why we got the "on the spot's" when we spec'd our last new engine.
Hit the switch and they just start spinning under the tires. Amazing what people come up with to not have to do PITA jobs.

We used to have onspots in warrenton on all the ambulances and they worked great until the slush froze onto the chains or the entire swing out mechanism froze. Great until then and very convenient to engage and disengage for sure depending on the road conditions. I was wheeling the wambulance Wednesday and no onspots on that piece so it was manual chaining and 25mph. All the pieces were chained also and its been years for me.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
They did it as a SEMA build due to the increased interest in overlanding and the Covid response to get out doors. There is no production planed at this point. I myself, wouldn't mind a set up like that as my truck is my daily driver. Make sure it has a lift and off-road tires and take it with me on the trails. Park it and explore with the truck, keeping a base camp set up if you staying somewhere for a couple of days.

Thanks for the info. I had seen NV coatings mentioned before. Added to my notes.

Kid with cancer near Martinsburg WV, loves jeeps and will most likely not see his next birthday. I am aware we are not "jeepahs" but anyways:

Anyone else up "north" thinking about this. I wouldn't mind getting a couple Taco's in the parade. It's about 30 minutes from Winchester.

I haven't used the here, but we did at my dads house. Found a link that might be useful. And I would get self tensioning, something that will pull the sides down for more tension on the chains without stressing them too much. Also, the tensioners may help restrain them if one breaks. And I would think you would be good with just the back set in most circumstances.

Also look at Justin King on YT. He's part of an off-road rescue / recovery group in Colorado and he has chained up on a regular basis during recoveries. He may have something on his channel.

Looking for a little advice. I'm going to put a front bumper on the truck. Primary reason is to keep deer out of the radiator and windshield. My thoughts have been leaning toward a full hoop, but I wonder about the strength of the hoops vs 150+ lbs. of venison at highway speed being a damage multiplier (headlights, fenders, hood). The primary concern is keeping the deer from coming up, and the full baja style with the added tube supports (which I like better anyway) seem as if they would do a better job at getting it away from the front of the truck and keeping it from coming up into the grill and radiator. It seems the full hoops would be susceptible to some bending back without the lower added tube supports. And plate vs. hybrid tubes. Plate seems stronger and like it could take more abuse. I've only hit two deer, and escaped with minor damage both times, once in the Taco, once in my F150. This is a new area for me and thoughts are welcome. Especially those based on experience. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I have seen two threads about bumpers, one after impact and one listing most of the vendors with pics and prices. No need to send those. :)

Its basically a copy of this:
    IMG_20191013_210815787.jpg IMG_20191013_210922816.jpg

They made it a Jeep only event yesterday around lunch time since they are also trying to get a Guinness World Record attempt. I am getting a Jeep Wrangler delivered this morning in order to attend.

Wifey went out yesterday and bought all Jeep DieCasts models that were available for purchase locally.

RuralKing didn't have the Bruder Jeep setup that my boys have in stock:

If someone could help out (been busy with Hack Fallout) and find it in NoVA and drive it out to me in Linden before lunch I would appreciate it. I am happily paying for it or we all chime in 5$ for the kid.

Otherwise that would have been added. Even got a custom bag sewn together by her Company with Licence plates etc:

Stopped by the FD last night and grabbed swag that we usually give out for kids as well during public safety education events but got reeled into new SCBA overview and didnt get shirts.

I have a Demello front w/ hoop, and can say that at 35-45 mph hitting a deer with it sent the deer down and under immediately upon impact and only left a couple pieces of hair on the bumper. No other damage was found.
Granted it didn't hit the hoop, but I feel confident that at those speeds it wouldn't have done any damage to the hoop either.

Here is my evidence fir demello hybrid bumper. This is how I ended back in a taco.

Semi truck rear ended me doing about 45 when I was at a dead stop. The damage on the suv in front of me was bad. Her suv wouldnt start and the semi was down too. My front of the hood and fenders werent even scratched.
