Pedal position sensor

Does anyone know where I can buy a pedal position sensor for 2003 Tacoma 3.4L 4x4 auto tranny crew cab without having to buy the whole throttle body at the dealer ?

 

That is the weird one that only comes with the Throttle Body.

Just what is wrong in your case ??

Not having to ever solve that problem I don`t know how much work it would be to swap to a different year and if it would mean a ECM to match .

Look for a used one throttle body.

It is called Throttle Position Sensor or TPS

 

The check engine code P-2138 is coming up. I will hit the gas and it will not respond it’s say it’s either the TPS or the sensor on the other that pulls the fly by wire to open up the throttle. And if I can’t find the sensor alone I may have to buy the whole throttle body

Last I heard this was not sorted out but I did not need to solve this so really was not paying real close attention

 

There was some talk in the other big 1st gen thread about how someone was able to find a sensor overseas that worked for the later year 1st gen TPS, rather than having to buy the whole throttle body.

 

I have never been able to locate a pedal postion sensor. (The sensor closest to the actual throttle cable) Only the Thottle position sensor. The TPS is available on partsgeek.
I have the part number at home. I'm camping until Saturday.

 

It is possible to use a 2nd gen gas pedal that has the pedal position sensor built in to it. That would eliminate the throttle cable and require some wiring to tie it into original plug at throttle body.
I've researched it as a last resort type of deal. The resistance readings are similar. Of course this is all in theory and on paper. It hasn't ever been done that I know of.
