Pretty cool to stumble across this old thread. I'm running the same suspension as the OP except with 285/70/17's on FJ wheels and I get many compliments by passengers as well as randos so that's cool. I've got about 100,000 miles on the suspension and it's still running solid.
@CrashN'Burn definitely did some homework and I'm definitely following this thread now (even if a bit too late lol) and going to go back and read through all the pages to compare and contrast.

Was finally gonna install my Pro kit in a couple of weeks but now I’ve got a rear leaf failure on the pass. side. Really debating on which springs to go with next. Definitely not goin’ with the stock POS springs again.

I had the Icon AAL before my Dakars. With a fiberglass leer canopy they sagged, without they were great.

See that’s just it. I’m waitin’ patiently for a good quality used topper to show up eventually but for now just the usual 2-3 hundred lbs. of work gear. Things is I wanna get this kit on & I need springs now. Suppose I could go big & take leafs out for now. But which brand to go with. :notsure:

    Hello,

I know this is an old thread but I'd like to have the benefit of your experience and knowledge to help me evaluate an OME Lift Kit I am considering. My goal is to shore-up against any unforeseen 'gotchas'.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Cheers

May be a bit older, but all the info is still relevant. I responded to your post in the light weight wheel tire thead. :)

Washed my shocks today, a year later they are doing well, they still look like new. I used Eastwood's 2K AeroSpray Clear (two component paint)on the shock bodies prior to installing, and also Fluid Film before last winter (Utah uses a lot of road salt). My truck isn't my daily driver but did see a lot of winter driving last year.

This thread has been extremely helpful to me so I wanted to post my 2012 V6 on here as well. I’m running TRD BAJA setup as well as the ICON AAL with overloads taken out. Truck handles and performs like it’s on rails. 9F0317C5-AC36-48BF-B26E-8827A593075F.jpg

I installed this Baja lift in 2018; recently heard a noise that I thought was a hub assembly in the rear, which dealer thought they could warrantee. after inspection Toyota tech says this shock and coil over set up is not really for the 3rd gen as shocks are too long, and has a little play at the top of the assembly where it mounts to frame. Tech says probably won't cause any issues, but the noise will remain. Wondering of there is a fix, he said the nuts can not be tightened anymore as the threads are maxed out. I understand the tech looks for it to be set up from factory. But want to get these from being free floating in the mount. Anyone have thoughts for a fix??? thank you in advance.

I bet the little rubber bushings are getting worn out. Im having the same issue right now on my Kings. Will have to pull them out and install new ones this spring. Not sure if you can source new ones for these shocks or not, but you may be able to find a suitable alternative

Thanks. Yes, have to investigate further and get under there see what’s what and figure out how to resolve.
