    About halfway done...
Got the aluminum skin installed over the summer. IMG_4750.jpg
Added the EZ down with some extra brackets. This way the cable locks don't bind on the strut. I borrowed this idea from @Crom who has one of the most organized build threads.:hattip:

All but two of my stanchions where unglued. So I made wooden braces to hold the stanchions in place while the marine grade sealant cured.

Anyone know how I can get one of these shipped to Canada? My tailgate is more concave then a cave and I've seen these can not just reinforce them but also actually straighten them out

Has anyone used one of these to mount their license plate? I’m wondering if a bracket, or even just two holes drilled in the lip of the reinforcement would suffice as a license plate holder... I am asking because I Might do a high clearance tube bumper and there aren’t really any good spots to mount the plate below the tailgate...

I don't believe it's been done yet. I'll post up if I come across anything that might work for this application

    Thanks

I believe the batch we sent to powder coat should be enough for all open powder coated orders. We're currently working though the orders in order of order date right now so just keep an eye on your email for tracking when we get it out. If we happen to run out of powder coated panels before your order we still have more bare ones on the shelf that we can send down to the coater too, there'd just be a little more delay for the coating in that case

Just got an 09 regular cab, and I'm shocked at how weak the tailgates are on these! It's ridiculous. Mine has a ding on the top edge, but doesn't look bent, yet. I will be buying one of these in steel and probably powdercoated. I will probably reinstall the plastic cover, so what bolts should I get? I've seen mention of a TW discount. Is that still in effect, and how much? What is your shipping estimate to 32003?
    Thanks,
    Scott

For bolts see my post above #161
I didn’t think reusing the plastic clips and stock screws would be strong enough.
So I upgraded to rivnuts and stainless button head screws. Also reglue the braces because that helps with rigidity

What’s the availability like for the bare steel version for a 2nd gen. I noticed they’re on backorder, but for how long?
