image-01.jpg Did that title get ya? We are talking about a Tacoma that belongs to my wife lol.
So, my wife was in need of a new vehicle and has always wanted a Tacoma. We already have a dedicated rock crawler, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So with this build we are primarily looking at ovelanding/ getting all the shit to base camp. We do want it to hold it's own on moderate to hard trails and of course the occasional high speed desert run.

    The build so far...

Took the truck out for a test run today at Corral Canyon. We only hit one trail as this was mainly a shake down run. We identified a couple of rubs and the need for more armor. But for the most part the truck performed perfectly.

How have the tires held up? Looking at a set in a 265/75/16. How many miles have you put on them?

The tires have been great. I think we are at 20k on them. They are wearing evenly and barely at that. Traction is great all over. Road noise is mild.

I currently have Cooper ST Maxx and are getting loud as hell. They are wearing ok some uneven wear. For the things I do the hybrids are more of what I need.
