Torn between leaf springs!! Help!!

So how does the All Pro Expo pack compare to the Dakar HD pack?

 

Thanks! I'm running 265/70/17. It's my daily. I'm getting parts together for the 2018 4runner off road premium for trail purpose

 

I own a 2011 Tacoma with a Snugtop camper shell, box with all my recovery gear, 3 gallon water tank, 20lb Powertank, 48” hilift, tool box, small collapsible table, maxtrax, etc... I currently have an aftermarket HD leaf spring 3/1 rated to carry 400lbs load. I’m thinking about upgrading to the Old Man Emu Darkar HD leaf springs EL096R. What’s your take on this? Is it worth the upgrade with the setup I currently have....my truck with all the stuff I carry is pretty heavy

 

Do you know the brand or have any spring rate data on the pack you're running now? Was it supposed to give you lift and if so, did it? Carrying +400 lbs over stock, assuming that is supposed to be constant weight, is a strong medium duty spring. That's probably roughly the same spring as the TSB springs Toyota was installing. The comparison would be OME says the EL096R is +300 kg (660 lbs) of constant load with 2.75" of lift.

 

Check out HeadstrongOffroad.com, go to their leaf pack page, they have several options to choose from and they each have a good explanation of what lift and weight capacity they provide. Also give Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road a call, she will help you immensely. Sounds like your setup is along the same lines as mine, I went with Allpro Expo leafs, they work great. I carry a constant load of 500-600# daily, they are more than up to the task. I paired mine with Firestone air bags, just to extend the life of the leafs as long as possible. When I'm loaded up completely for a trip, I can shoot ~20-30 psi in my bags and the ride is plush, when unloaded, I simply deflate to ~5 psi and plush again

In my opinion I think the EL096R's will work for you. I have the CS047R's the preceding OME part number and I carry lots of gear and have the same shell and also pull a trailer.
I got a 3" lift. I have no sagging when loaded up. Really... My 15 Tacoma rides great loaded up.

You will not be disappointed.. I am stoked , I had AAL's and they sagged. The OME's leaf packs are awesome.

You are welcome David and thank you for the compliment. If you need some one to do the install Jason (speedfreak) here on Tacoma world is very good at installs welding ect. He did all my stuff including a BMC
and is in Vista.

Hey, it's the least I could do. You helped me ALOT ( I probably bugged the hell out of you with so many phone calls) when I got my ADS front coilovers and rear shocks for my truck, then about a week later, you helped me with my wife's Icon Stage 2 setup for her 4Runner!
