    Howdy,
I'm new on here as it has taken me the better part of 15 years to finally get the Tacoma I wanted. Now that i do i'm looking to get a lift on it as it already needs new ball bearings which led me to figure why not just do this now.

4 Wheel Parts here in Austin is quoting me ~$3,000 for the 2.75 Coilover set with i believe (still waiting on the dude to email me the detailed quote after checking the vehicle over) a spacer to level her out.

Seems really high considering the parts are $1,000 on their website.

I'm a newbie with truck ownership and a born skeptic so wanted to make sure i'm not being bent over completely.

Any advice on here would be appreciated.

PS - This site is great, was super useful in making sure i got a decent deal on the Tacoma.

And I would try to find some local peeps to help put it in, and completely stay away from that place. Heard many horror stories about that shit hole. Talk to Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road she'll set you right.

    They're probably charging you for
    -parts
    -labor front and back
    -alignment

    etc.

For that amount of money you have many choices. I would suggest surfing tacoma world for a couple months, stack some more money and make a decision down the road or you will end up spending money, then realizing you want something else.

There are plenty of great Suspension set ups you can look for, but im assuming if youre new to the truck world, youre probably still clueless about what the truck is going to be used for. i.e. heavy expedition truck, daily driver, etc.

Surf Tacoma World, watch some youtube videos and stay away from 4wp . good luck bud. Welcome to the money pit.

Thanks man! I'll be sure to keep this on the down low at my house or else my wife's being sold on a "beater used truck" will quickly dissipate!

Yeah im sure youre excited to mod the truck, the mod bug will hit you soon, but just educate yourself, talk to everyone on the forum and make a good financial decision down the road. If you got 3 grand tho, cant go wrong with king, icon or fox, but its honestly preference.

And remember OP you don't need to spend that much on a lift. I have OME 887's on 5100's up front and a rear ICON 3 Leaf Progressive AAL with ICON 2.0 Shocks. Plus JBA UCA's up front.

Hey saw your from Austin @Texoma his name is Chris he is the goto man for any work needed in a Toyota. He did my lift, he’s the only person I’d trust with my truck. He has worked on ALOT of fellow members trucks. Seems they are taking you for labor check out the atx thread in the Texas region. He’s something of a wrench ninja an rates less that half of a shop or dealer.

Working on it, dissent offroad racks, shift sense pro, pedal commander , ARB twin, rigid SS dually's , dual batteries, ARB fridge , 2.5 Fox coil overs wResi , 2.5 Fox rears w resi Total chaos UCA , deaver packs , Nitto trail grappler's 33" .
My advice is to stay the hell away from 4wheelparts ! You can go to @Headstrong or @Downsouth Motorsports they are both very knowlagble and very fair. Then find yourself an indecent shop to do the install.
