I recently noticed that this slight weird squeak/ squeal has come back (I had this issue in the past and had it diagnosed and fixed while the truck was under warranty) when I'm usually parking or driving at slow speeds. Both while in reverse and in drive. The noise comes from inside the cabin while turning the wheel more than one rotation in either direction.

I recall talking to the service manager at my local dealership when I brought my truck in originally. He said I was the first case of this he had. After I picked up my truck he told me after having his techs check some of the other Tacomas on the lot, they all had the same weird noise.

Unfortiually my truck is now out of warranty and I'm stuck either trying to fix it or living with the annoying noise that drives me nuts. Has anyone had this issue before? Whos got the fix knowledge?

UPDATE: Spoke with my dealership and said they had replaced the spiral cord/ clock spring. Has anyone had any experience doing this themselves?? They want to charge me a small fortune to fix it.

What did they do to fix it the first time?

You sure it's in the cabin, and not power steering??

I'm not sure. They didn't tell me the specifics.

100% I had a buddy try to duplicate the noise while I stood outside the truck. He heard it inside and I didn't. I'll try to get it on video

Anyone know how to convert a VIDEO off my phone to be able to post on here? I got a video of the noise but can’t upload it

I’m experiencing the same thing, but now have no warranty either. Mine is a 2017

This is a maybe? Not sure but just above the shown joint is a bellow that might cover a sliding joint connection - this may need some lube as well ???
Also, I'd also check the steering sliding yoke for proper tightness as well.
