I am having a similar issue with my metra adapter, plugged into the back of the stereo, but power led does not come on, and pressing the CD button doesn't switch over.

SPP, did you get yours replaced, and did the replacement work?

Nope. Customer support at Metra wanted me to send it to them but after dash teardowns and one exchange I said FORK it and took it back to CC.

Are you pressing the CD button once or holding it down for a few seconds? I don't have one, but from reading about them I think you have to hold the button for a few seconds (5?) for it to switch. Much like some of the other buttons have a function for 1 push, and another for push and hold.

You shouldn't have to hold the button down. Press the Disk button once for CDs, press it again for Metra mp3 player. Sounds like you got a bad one. Bummer!

I got 2 bad ones from 2 separate Circuit City Stores.
I pressed every button, Held them down, and did everything but human sacrifice to try and make it work. Even donated blood to the dash of my wifes car.
She will have to wait a year until she gets a new car with AUX input already installed.

Sounds like it is just not compatible with your wife's vehicle. Tell her to get a Tacoma. :D

I was using her car for a test so I could put one on my Tacoma if it worked.
No way will I touch another Metra product.

I just finished adding my AXXESS auxilliary input. I had the model AIP-TY02-ID. I bought it from Circuit City a few days ago. The LED light did not turn on, but it worked:). The auxilliar input did not come with a 3.5mm audio cable so I have to buy it separately. I bought Scosche for $13.00 from Fry's. The install instuctions from Tacoma World (link early in the thread) was very helpful. Everything is working and I am happy:D.
